Prof. Oualid (Walid) Ali

Oualid (Walid) Ben Ali, PhD obtained a bachelors degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), in 1998, from the "Institut Superieur de Gestion", in Tunis, Tunisia. In 1999, he moved to Canada, Laval University, Quebec, to carry on further studies and obtained a Masters degree in Computer Science in 2001, and PhD in Computer Science in 2006. In 2006, he moved to work at the University of York (UK) for two years as senior research assistant. In 2008, he moved to Sharjah University (UAE) to work in the MIS Department in the College of Business Administration. In 2010, he became the Head of the MIS Department. Dr. Ben Ali is a research leader in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Location Intelligence (LI); he has founded the GIS Center of the University of Sharjah (http://www.walidali.net/giscenter/index.html). He is an active researcher and has published several papers in renowned journals. He has participated in many international and national conferences. Dr. N. Arivazhagan

Dr. N. Arivazhagan has completed his B.E. in Production Engineering during 1997 from Madras University; M.Tech (Industrial Metallurgy) in 2002 from NIT Warangal and Ph.D in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Roorkee in the year 2007. He has more than 10 years of teaching and 8 years of industrial experience. With his keen interest in teaching and research, he has started working as Professor in Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore India. His areas of expertise are in the typical industrial thrust areas such as dissimilar metals welding, hot corrosion of weldments and surface modification technologies.
Dr. N. Arivazhagan is an active researcher, having two ongoing funded projects from government agencies of India. He is instrumental in developing the research culture amongst the students. He has published more than 30 research papers in the international journals and 50 papers in the international/national conferences. Under his guidance, one scholar had completed his Ph.D. and six research scholars are currently pursuing their Ph.D. research work. He is also serving as reviewer in various reputed international journals.
Dr. N. Arivazhagan has served and engaged in several administrative assignments of VIT University. He served as Division chair and Programme Chair of the manufacturing division in VIT University. He conducted several workshops, conferences and short term courses at VIT University. He won several awards and recognitions inside India and abroad
